For advancing the field of neurosurgery, notably through the use of intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology, the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston has announced the appointment of Dr. Sutherland as a Member of the Order of Canada. Dr. Sutherland is honoured to accept this award, to be bestowed at a later date.
The neuroArm team continues to add new surgeries to its case series. Check out new images from our cases in December.
On November 5, 2010, neuroArm was back in the operating room assisting with the excision of an acoustic schwannoma. The case marked the first time that neuroArm performed microsurgery in the 3T iMRI environment and the first use of our new high definition 3D vision at the workstation.
